Day 1: Haridwar-Guptkashi (200 km / 9-10 hours)
You will meet our driver at Haridwar Railway station/hotel/home and drive to Guptkashi via Moolgarh; Lambgoan. On the way, you can see the beautiful river Mandakini at Tilwara. Enjoy a scenic drive alongside the river to reach Guptakashi. Visit ArdhNarishwar Temple in Guptakashi. Later, you will be transferred to the hotel and stay overnight at Guptkaashi Hotel.
Guptakashi: The name GuptKashi means “Hidden Banaras”. According to mythology when the Pandava brothers were searching for a glimpse of Shiva; Shivji first concealed himself at Guptkashi. But soon after, he walked up to Kedarnath valley, where the Pandavas’ wish got fulfilled. Kedarnath is identified for its ancient Vishwanath Temple devoted to the lord Shiva, which is equivalent to the temple situated in Varanasi (Kashi). The other well-known temple here is Ardhanareshvara Temple, a half man half woman form of Shiva and Parvati.
Guptkashi Weather: Pleasant in summer, the temperature ranges from 25-30 degree Celsius. Cold in winters.
Day 2: Guptkashi - Kedarnath (30 km + 16 km trek)
Post breakfast at your Guptakshi stay,you will leave for Kedarnath in the morning. After darshan of Kedarnath temple, stay overnight at Kedarnath.
By Helicopter: For a visit to the Kedarnath temple via helicopter, our driver will transfer you to your pre-book Helipad in the morning. The duration of the helicopter ride is usually 5 to 10 minutes (one way). After that our car will drop you back at the hotel for rest.
By Trek: Our driver will drop you at Sonprayag in the morning, after which you will have to hire a local jeep for Gourikund. This is where your trek starts for kedarnathji. After darshan, you will have to follow the same route back to Sonprayag.
P.S. Due to the unavailability of parking space, the driver might pick you up from a different spot than where he drops you. If you are not able to contact the driver (because of poor network coverage), you can get in touch with any other driver or hire another taxi.
Kedarnath Weather: Due to its high altitude, the weather in Kedarnath remains cold for most part of the year. Summer here is cool and pleasant, while winter is severe. During the summer season, the temperature stays around 20°Celsius. Light woollen wear is recommended. Winter season in Kedarnath is severe with the mercury falling to as low as 0° celsius. During this time, the place experiences snowfall as well. Due to the extreme climatic conditions, winter is usually avoided by tourists.
Day 3 : Kedarnath - Guptkashi (16 km trek + 30 Kms)
Next morning, after breakfast, you will start your journey back to Guptkashi so that you can easily visit Badrinath the next day. After reaching Guptkashi, check in at the hotel. Overnight halt at Guptkashi.
This return journey can be either by helicopter or by trek (as per your choice).
Day 4: Guptkashi -Badrinath(200 km / 8-9 hours)
After a good night’s rest, and a lovely breakfast at your hotel, you will start your journey to Badrinath. On arrival at Badrinath, our representative will help you with a smooth transfer to the hotel. After having a bath in the Taptkund, pilgrims usually go for the Darshan of Badrivishal and participate in the evening aarti. Brahamakapal is considered significant for Pinddan Shraddh of ancestors (Pitras).
Additionally, there are other interesting sightseeing spots like Mana, VyasGufa, Maatamoorti, Charanpaduka, Bhimkund and the “Mukh” of the Saraswati River. All within a three-kilometre radius of Badrinathjee. Overnight stay at Badrinath.
Day 05: Badrinath -Rudraprayag via Joshimath(165 km / 5-6 hours)
On this beautiful 5th morning of your trip, start your day with a delicious breakfast at your hotel and prepare towards the last leg of your trip- Rudraprayag. On the way to Rudraprayag, you will visit Narsingh Temple at Joshimath. Continue your drive to Rudraprayag. On the arrival at Rudraprayag, check into the hotel. Stay overnight at the hotel in Rudraprayag.
One of the four ‘Maths’ established by AdiShankaracharya, Joshimath is the winter seat of Badrinath. The idol is brought down to Joshimath and installed in the temple for people to worship. There are many other temples in this township. The most important among all of them is the Narsingh temple with the idol of Lord Vishnu. Overtime, the left arm of this deity disfiguring; and according to a popular mythological belief, when the arm completely withers, Badrinath valley will cease to exist and the Gods will transfer the residence into the neighbouring Niti Valley at BhavishyaBadri.
Rudraprayag is one of the PanchPrayag (five confluences) of Alaknanda River. It is a confluence of rivers Alaknanda and Mandakini. Kedarnath is located 86 km from Rudraprayag.
Rudraprayag Weather – Generally hot in summer, the temperature ranges from 35-40 degree Celsius here. During winter, the days are pleasantly cool but the nights are cold. Temperature ranges from 20 to 5 degree celsius.
Day 06: Rudraprayag -Haridwar (165 km / 5-6 hours)
Get an early start to the last day of your trip after a scrumptious breakfast at the hotel. Begin your journey back to Haridwar via Rishikesh. Halt at Rishikesh for some beautiful sights and temple visits. Laxmanjhulla and Ram jhulla are some of the unmissable spots at Rishikesh.
Rishikesh: Rishikesh, ‘the place of sages’ is a celebrated spiritual town, situated on the banks of Ganga and is surrounded by the Shivalik range of the Himalayas on three sides. It is said that when Raibhya Rishi did hard penances, God appeared by the name of “Hrishikesh” and this area hence forth came to be known as Rishikesh. Named after Lord Vishnu, Rishikesh is a holy city for Hindus. Located in the foothills of the Himalaya in northern India it is also known as the yoga center of the world and is home to many world- renowned ashrams. Rishikesh styles itself as the ‘Yoga Capital of the World’, with masses of ashrams and all kinds of yoga and meditation classes. The fast- flowing Ganges is surrounded by forested hills inside the city. Apart from temples and ashrams, Rishikesh is now a popular white-water rafting centre, backpacker hang-out, and a gateway to treks in the Himalayas.
